Cindy, I loved the book,

Cindy,

I loved the book, and your interview was great. It kind of put the reality into the book. Hope to see you soon---perhaps at another of Brenda's Pampered Chef parties!

I should start my remarks by

I should start my remarks by stating that I am Cindy's cousin...in fact she and her mother were flying back from our family farm in Ohio when the plane crash occurred. That said, I am so proud of Cindy and what she has done with her book and her life.

It was great to see Cindy in the video clip since for the past 25+ years, we have only seen still pictures of each other and shared letters and emails.

Until Cindy kindly sent me a draft copy of the book at Christmas, I had no idea what her childhood was really like (I was not quite 3 years old at the time of the crash). Being on her father's side of the family (her father is my uncle), I only saw a picture of her as a baby and then heard stories about the custody battle from our family's prespective. Cindy never got to know my Grandfather since he passed away before she reconnected with the family, but she did get to know my Grandmother and I hope we are on the way to making up for lost time.

Cindy's book shows an amazing picture of how a small community can pull together in a disaster and then how a person, with the help of others, can overcome their "personal disaster" of addiction. As we approach Mother's Day, I cannot imagine my life without my mother (Aunt Babs in Cindy's book), and this make me appreciate even more Cindy's attitude toward her life.

Way to Go Cindy!

This book is absolutely

This book is absolutely captivating! Intrigued by the story, I sat down for three hours and read this book from cover to cover mindful of the story and oblivious to everything else.

Cindy Lou Young's masterpiece Out of the Fog is far from just a story about her survival of a tragic airplane crash that took her mothers life. It is a story about the education she gained through her unique life experiences that have given her special understanding that she is able to spread through the words in this book.

Cindy has courageously and honestly shared her dark moments and has emerged from the fog and grip of alcoholism and dysfunctional life patterns to an enlightened person and ambassador of truth with an awesome gift of writing.

I just ordered the book but

I just ordered the book but haven't read it yet. I was 16 yrs old in Nantucket at the time of the Northeast Airlines crash you survived. I must tell you that that crash really impacted mine and my twin's sister's lives because of the following. Roger Young (of the Bicycle Shop) was our boss at the time and he was there helping victims at the time of the crash and told us some of the devastating stories. Also an amateur photographer friend was on his way home when the crash occurred and he took many pictures which were later sold to Life Magazine. Some of those photos I still have in my possession. Your mother was in my brother-in-law's class in school. My twin sister and I were so impacted by that event that my sister still will not fly. I always flew very reluctantly ,and then 9/11 happened so driving by vehicle has become my only mode of transportation. Needless to say, all these years later, we have wondered how you are doing and so are very grateful you have written this book. I can't wait to read it and am so pleased to see & hear your interview and a relief to know that you are doing so well.

A very special thank you for

A very special thank you for a very special book. Even though it had tears running down my face in parts - those tears ended up at the very end when I realized avery remarkable person had beaten the odds and found happiness in a much happier world. I'll always treasure this book as being a hope of goodness in a very insecure world that we live in.
