Singer and songwriter Ingrid Michaelson plays a few songs for Plum on the beach in 'Sconset. Ingrid's music has been selected for soundtracks on Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill. One of her most recent releases, The Way I Am, is featured in an Old Navy commercial, and she was featured as VH1's Artist of the Month in November of 2007.

her song floated into my mind like something out of the blue
Her lyrics are personal, like something from the optimistic late '70s. Her music is soft, and reassuring. and three dimensional. Her voice is calming and pulls you into a whole different kind of comfort zone (resembling love). To me she came like something out of the blue as I heard her sing a few lyrics from "As I am" on an Old Navy comercial. I had tried writing songs for years searching for a way to tell my wife how much I loved her and suddenly there came Ingrids voice singing what I had tried for 31 years (ever since high school) to say. I had to track her music down to see what else of her was out there. I am not disappointed. What she sings about and hopes for I also hoped for and found. Her songs hit the bulls-eye with me. I hope I don't sound too weird but she touched my soul. A little freaky at first but comforting at last. Thank-you Miss Michaelson.

I'm in a daze.
I've only heard her song in the Old Navy commercial
recently and I would hum along while I could hear it
on the tv in the next room.
So just today I looked up her music and fell in love.
I must've listened to The Way I Am a million times
already, and for some reason, it keeps bringing tears to my eyes.
I love the song, and plan to buy her cd tomorrow.
(Also totally fell in love with Far Away ~ beautiful!)
I wish her great success, and she definitely has my support.

I was very disappointed to see that Ms. Michaelson was not wearing a bikini or other scant style swim wear...I mean, it's not that I don't appreciate her angelic sweet voice, but I've been appreciating that since the Tuesdays down at the Red where some of her first fans were born...I know it's cold out and everything, but I read Ingrid Michaelson on the beach and just jumped to ridiculous conclusions...Any way, this is a very nice performance and I'm always happy to hear of SINY's finest doin well. Peas out.

I absolutely loved this clip. Seeing Ingrid at the beach was wonderful. I just saw her (last week) at Slim's, in San Francisco.
I first heard her on Grey's Anatomy episodes and the Old Navy commercial, with "The Way I Am". Then, when local radio stations in the Bay area started playing this song, I freaked out! (In a good way) :o)
I bought the album "Girls and Boys" for my brother for Christmas, and loved Ingrid even more. Following that, I bought it for myself, naturally.

It is so refreshing to hear such a beautiful voice. I thoroughly enjoy every song sung by Ingrid. What a talent. I play "The Way I Am" over and over and never get tired of hearing it. She speaks so articulate for being so young. The clip of Ingrid and Allie was delightful. Thank you for providing that clip.
