Information to help Nantucket's Autism population
Hi. My name it Brian Gordon. I visited Nantucket for the first time this past weekend to attend a wedding. At the reception I got to taking to a Nantucket resident who told me that Nantucket takes great care to both raise awareness of and develop the best services possible to work with the unique strengths and deficits of this inspiring population.
I currently direct a program just outside Boston that uses theater games and age-appropriate motivators to impart social pragmatics to the high-functioning autism population. The results have been incredible. "In vivo" learning seems to work best. I love my work and would love to share ideas to could be of potential help to those kids on Nantucket on the spectrum. Feel free to contact me anytime. I never tire of discussing how amazing it is to work with these kids and what works best to effect developmental progress without compromising the incredible gift of individuality these kids possess.
Sincerely, Brian Gordon, Program Director
