The Whalers were ready for their third win in a row during their match against Diman on Nov. 10.
On a brisk autumn day the Nantucket Whalers Football team dropped the Diman Bengals 14-6.
The Whalers got on board in the first quarter with a two-yard dive by Junior running back Hunter Day and took a 6-0 lead into half.
The Bengals evened the score in the third quarter at 6-6. Whalers Fullback and Nantucket Nectars player of the game, Jamison Viera, powered into the endzone for the winning score in the fourth quarter.
The Whaler’s record is now 3-5, thanks to their recent three game winning streak. They have certainly picked a good time to get hot. The Whalers play Martha’s Vineyard away on November 17, as the Whalers seek to salvage a losing season with four straight wins and a return of the Island Cup Trophy.
Students at Martha’s Vineyard Regional high school certainly had a lot to say about their island rival. Check out the video of the Vineyard students.
