Sports fans drop by the Stop & Shop to pick up supplies for the Super Bowl XLII on Sunday.
One of the most critical elements of a properly planned Super Bowl party is preparing a hearty dish to keep your rowdy guests at bay. Cheering for your team can take a lot of energy so you’ll probably need something with a lot of calories to keep you going. Also, if you’re hosting a party, it’s probably best to keep your guests weighed down with dip, rather then jumping off the walls in excitement.
Here are our recommondations for devastatingly good Super Bowl food. Start out with Matt Hill's Seven Layer Bean Dip, move onto Bill Puder of Fareground's Spicy Barbecued Ribs, and wash it all down with refreshing Cisco Brew.
Tex-mex Seven Layer Bean Dip
by Matt Hill
- 2 cans refried beans, mix with 2 tbsp sour cream heat until warm
- 1 cup mayonaise mix with 1 cup of your favorite salsa
- 2-3 rip avacodos, well mashed
- 1 cup finely diced red onion
- 2-3 large diced tomatoes
- shredded lettuce to cover
- 2 cups grated extra sharp cheddar cheese
Layer in order of ingredents listed. Place first 5 layers, in order, in
a glass rectangular baking dish. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours then add the
shredded lettuce and grated cheese. Serve with corn toritta chips for
dipping, and watch it disappear.
This is a recipe passed down to me from my mother cindy phillips and
anytime its served it always goes fast and its always a hit. Simple but
