Angela Paterson and Jordan Ferreira have both reached the 1000 point milestone for the Nantucket High School Whalers this year.
On Wednesday, Junior Angela Paterson scored her one-thousandth point for the Nantucket High School Basketball Team and became the second player, along with Senior Jordan Ferreira, to reach the milestone this year.
Growing up on Nantucket poses a natural set of obstacles for a student trying to nurture their talent (thirty miles of water). However, Paterson has devoted much of her life to playing basketball, traveling to and from the Island every weekend to play AAU basketball. In the process she's developed a smooth shot and a love for the game.
Paterson hopes that a deep run into the playoffs and another year of basketball will bring her another accomplishment: beating Glen Santos' 1967 record of 1486 points.
Watch the video below as Angela Paterson reaches the milestone.

NHS girls' basketball stand-out Angela Paterson made her 1,000th career
point with a good ole' lay-up (and drew the foul). A crowded gymnasium
celebrated Paterson's milestone and cheered on the Whaler team to
another play-off victory.

Congratulations to both
Congratulations to both student athletes. Way to make Nantucket proud! What an accomplishment.
