These big bass were caught aboard the "Albacore" on Friday 5/30/08. Check out this week's Nantucket Fishing Report.
Their back!!!!! The big blues and striped bass are finally here according to Captain Bob DeCosta of Albacore Charters. He fished several trips over the weekend and had great success, especially with the big stripers. The biggest fish was a whopping 45 inches long and weighed about 30lbs! They also had two 43" a 41" and a 40". The fishing off Sankaty is action packed. Lots of big bluefish with some bass mixed in. The mix was about three blues to one bass earlier in the week. Speaking of bluefish, they are all around the island from the sound to Great Point. Lots of seals at the Point as well. If you go see them, remember feeding seals is against the law.
Plenty of Sea Bass and Scup on the wrecks in the sound. These little fish are a lot of fun for the kids and great to eat. If you are around the docks stop by and say hello to Bob and his crew.
