Nantucket Memorial Airport has officially broken ground at the site for their new terminal. The groundbreaking is just one part of the project the Airport Commission, the Airport staff, and many others have waited for.
The commencement ceremony, however, really made it official in the eyes of the Nantucket community. It's one giant step in the right direction on the road to get a new, more updated, more secure airport terminal in Nantucket.
E. Foley Vaughan, Chairman of the Airport Commission, said, “The groundbreaking is not the end of the process, but rather an important milestone on the road to providing those who use Nantucket Airport a more secure and modern facility – one that will meet the needs of both residents and visitors for decades to come.”
