Cesar Villalobos
' unique skill and passion for Andean music has taken him around the world performing for dignitaries and recording with symphonies like the Boston Pops.

On Thursday, Villalobos and his group Inca Son performed a free concert presented by the Nantucket Atheneum and the Friends of the Nantucket Public Schools in a packed NHS Auditorium. The concert culminated two days of workshops at the Nantucket Public schools on Andean dance, music and culture.

Dinner was prepared by students in the Nantucket Culinary Arts program in order to raise money for their trip to Europe. Inca Son was joined by Peruvian dancers including the Peruvian Scissor Dancing Champion.

Congratulations to Mr.

Congratulations to Mr. Villalobos and Inca Son for bringing Peruvian culture alive to the students of the Nantucket Public Schools. As an educator, I believe that all schools in Massachusetts should take part in this very valuable, rich cultural experience that brought so much happiness to so many children and teachers alike. These are the types of experiences that help our kids to perform better at school and have a more clear global perspective. I admire the Nantucket Public School System for giving such a gift of culture to their students.

I first saw Inca Son in

I first saw Inca Son in highschool when i was 15. Some 12 years later I still love their music, message, and the kindness and warmth they bring with them wherever they go. I used to live on Nantucket, and remember seeing them perform in the Unitarian Church...its still one of the most amazing musical experiences of my life.
