Dolphins Stranded in Madaket Harbor

Stranded Dolphin: Cape Cod Response Team

A member of the Cape Cod Stranding Network tends to a dolphin stuck in Madaket Harbor under Millie's bridge.

Last week, two Common Dolphins were spotted in the shallow waters of Madaket Harbor. Onlookers contacted the Nantucket Marine Mammal Stranding Team, a volunteer group on Nantucket that responds to the beaching of whales, dolphins, and seals. The team of local ecologists and volunteers derives its authority and draws support from the New England Aquarium.

Watch the video below as responders work to save the two dolphins and discuss why marine mammals beach themselves.

I think it's just wonderful

I think it's just wonderful what the volunteers do for the wildlife. They are our beloved friends thank you for being so kind.
