In a special edition of our MorningNoon&Night Show earlier this summer, The Atlantic and Plum were pleased to announce their first reading listDuring the show, Plum spoke with several of the Bookmark 2007 featured authors including: Corby Kummer, Senior Editor of The Atlantic and author of The Pleasures of Slow Food and The Joy of Coffee, Cullen Murphy, author of Are We Rome?, and Nathaniel Philbrick, author of MayflowerTom Scott, Chairman and CEO of Plum and Scott Stossel, Managing Editor of The Atlantic also appeared on the show to talk about Bookmark 2007.Stossel said, “It’s a terrific opportunity to bring the passion that we feel for great books and great ideas to your community of readers and smart, interesting people.”
The Atlantic and Plum will host a series of events all summer to promote the Bookmark 2007 reading list. Stephen and Cathy Graham hosted a book party to discuss Thomas Mallon's book Fellow Travelers. Author Jeffrey Goldberg spoke with the editor of The Atlantic Monthly James Bennet, about his new book Prisoner.The diverse reading list is made up of the best of recent fiction and non-fiction, several classics, and a book by local author Nathaniel Philbrick.
